Review
Damien manages to find himself in even more trouble when he decides to investigate Miss America's murder, and it is up to Millie to come to his rescue in the second book of the Damien Dickens Mysteries.
Millie's fans will be pleased to see that she plays a pivotal role in this book as she uses a combination of observation, common sense, and street smarts to find clues to Damien's disappearance. I really appreciated how Entis wrote Millie's character to be level-headed, intelligent, and personable.
Like its predecessor, T
he White Russian Caper
has some nostalgic qualities in its setting and the characters are rendered beautifully. I was happy to see some of the characters from the first book, and I think that Entis did a wonderful job of evolving them (or devolving them in some cases). The investigations and the mysteries in the book are excellent; they allow readers to form their own conclusions, but do not spoil the surprise by revealing everything until the end.
The White Russian Caper
is an absorbing read with its gorgeous and nostalgic setting, and its irresistible characters. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the
Damien Dickens Mysteries
!
